I hope you are all well and taking good precautions in keeping yourself safe and healthy. This is truly a strange time we find ourselves in, but I know that God will see us through it and that we will be gathering together in person again. I do not yet have any updated timelines about how long we will need to utilize the practice of social distancing and not have in-person gatherings, but based on what I have heard from the CDC we may need to continue to be apart beyond the end of this month. I hope and pray that changes and I will continue to keep you updated as I learn more and get direction from the conference office.
I did want to also take a moment to remind everyone that we will be offering worship via live stream on Sunday mornings. For at least the 22nd and the 29th, we will have a live stream beginning at 10:00 A.M. I am working on the technical details, but it will either be available via Facebook Live or YouTube Live or possibly both. With either option, you do not need to have any kind of account or log in to view the service. Our Facebook page is publicly available (no login required), and YouTube can be browsed without creating an account.
We will publish the links to view the service on both our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/centrevillemiumc/) and our current website homepage (http://centrevilleumc.com/). We are also working to address the sound issues that some people experienced last week, and hope to have most issues resolved in time. I appreciate everyone’s patience with this process and am thankful for all of the support and encouragement that has been offered already.
I also want to again ask that for those of you who make your tithes in-person on Sunday mornings that you please prayerfully consider mailing those tithes in, or even dropping them off at the church office when Sandi is in. I am also doing everything I can to be available via the phone, as well as in my office during my normal office hours. If you need to reach me, please call me on my cell phone (989-600-6148). If I am unable to answer when you call, please leave me a voicemail with the best number to reach you back at.
Thank you all again for your diligence in practicing social distancing. I know many feel disconnected from their church family and loved ones, but God is what connects us. I am also working on some other ideas and ways we can keep that feeling of connection strong, and I will reach out again when I have something more concrete. Please be safe, be careful, and take care of yourselves. We will be back together again soon and I look forward to seeing you all!
